How to convert a screenshot to PDF

By Last updated: 2 min readConvert to PDF

To turn screenshots into a PDF, open PNG to PDF (the same tool as JPG to PDF), add the screenshots, drag them into order and click Convert to PDF — each screenshot becomes a page of one PDF. Screenshots on Windows, Mac, iPhone and Android are saved as PNG or JPG, so they work directly, and the conversion happens on your device.

Quick steps

  1. 1Open PNG to PDF and add your screenshots.
  2. 2Drag them into the order you want.
  3. 3Click Convert to PDF.
  4. 4Download the PDF (compress it if it's too big to send).

Where to find your screenshots

Windows saves screenshots taken with Win + Print Screen to Pictures → Screenshots, and the Snipping Tool lets you save to any folder. A Mac saves screenshots to the Desktop by default. On an iPhone or Android phone they're in the Photos or Gallery app under Screenshots.

Combine them into one PDF

Open PNG to PDF, add all the screenshots at once and drag them into the order you want. Click Convert to PDF and you'll get one file with one screenshot per page.

Need the text to be searchable — for example a screenshot of a receipt or an article? Run OCR PDF on the result to add a text layer.

Before you share

Screenshots often capture more than you mean to: notifications, names, account numbers. Use Crop PDF to trim the edges, or Redact PDF to permanently black out details, before sending the PDF.

Frequently asked

Can I turn screenshots into a PDF on my phone?
Yes. Open PNG to PDF in your phone's browser and pick the screenshots from your photo library; the PDF is built on the phone.
Will the screenshot text be blurry?
No. The screenshot is placed on the page at its original resolution, so it looks exactly like the image.
Are my screenshots uploaded?
No. They're converted in your browser and never leave your device.
